We are in our 50s! Can your tour benefit my husband and me?
Women are in their prime sexual peak in their 50s and the Tao philosophy on love and sex is about attaining longevity in health, both mental and physical, through the mastery of sexual skills. Age is not an obstacle for those who truly practice the Tao. The 50s of today
are the 40s of yesterday. As we get older there are certain elements that affect our sexual functioning, such as hormonal changes, being overweight or erectile difficulties for some.
The Tao will give both of you the skills to be able to make enduring love as you age. The body may not function the way we want, but we can still keep on loving.

HHow can an individuals tour benefit me?
The Tao is all about loving in a positive way, which includes learning how to love ones self. Joining an individuals tour not only gives you the opportunity to gain insight into who you are as an individual person, but also to meet travelers from all around the world and to
form new friendships.

We are a lesbian couple, is the Tao workshop is for straight couples only?
The Tao’s main principle is the harmony between the yin and yang which means femininity and masculinity. As in ancient times, today modern sexologists know that femininity and masculinity exists within each individual sexual being. Therefore, same sex couples can also benefit from these wonderful workshops and enhance their sexual pleasure. The tools may be different, but the principles remain the same.

What is the difference between the Tao and Tantra and Karma Sutra?
Tantra & the Karma Sutra are much the same. They are Buddhist and Hindu mystical/ritual texts that are often mistaken for the Tao. They may even have had their origins in the Tao, but have developed into something quite different. The Indian way of loving is extremely ritualistic and tied to their religion. Tao remains more objective and believes that love making is necessary for the physical and mental health and well-being of both men and women, without any affiliation to any form of religious rituals. Therefore, it remains an important branch of Chinese medicine today. Tantra & the Karma Sutra focus mainly on love positions, which are mostly awkward and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, most manuals that illustrate picturesque love positions neglect to stress that an individual couple must adapt them to their own needs in a versatile and imaginative way. Trying to imitate these colourfully drawn and eloquently named positions can often lead to confusion and embarrassment. Very few couples [and I assure you, I am not one of them] can copy the idealised couple in the instruction books. Taoists place important value on sexual positions but suggest you find your own position through your own experiments using the books as a starting point.

Why is it the Tao Holiday Retreat and not a Retreat alone?
The workshop has been designed as a holiday retreat. As a multicultural person I am passionate about providing all travelers with a cross-cultural experience, especially in the world we live in today, whilst also giving you the opportunity to enhance your life both spiritually and sexually. Secondly, a holiday seems to put many of us in the mood for trying new things. Combining the world of traveling with a personally enriching workshop, is probably what the Taoists would have seen as the perfect harmony between the yin and the yang.

You mention that couples from all sexual preferences are welcome. If I don’t want to travel with gay people, male or female, can I come on your tours?
As a sexologist I am committed to “Sexual Rights”. The freedom for sexual expression, and a healthy and fulfilling sexual life for individuals should be considered just as important as any other aspect of “Human Rights”, and that includes all men or women in our society, whether they are gay, straight, Bi or transgender . It is my professional obligation and desire to bring about social awareness and greater tolerance of sexual diversity. What connects all couples is, after all, love. I welcome all. and do not ask travelers to specify their sexual preference.

Will we be required to participate in any sexual group activity or nudity?
No nudity or any sexual activity will take place during our group discussions. Couples will receive practical sexual exercises, which will be done in the privacy of their hotel room.
This is not different from any couple or individuals who come to a therapy session with me - they usually receive practical exercises to do in the privacy of their home. With Tao workshops, the exercises will be allocated to the topics which we will discuss in our daily group discussions.

What are your qualifications in sexology and your experiences in the travel industry?
I am a trained and qualified Sexologist in the Institute of Advance Study of Human Sexuality in San-Francisco, California, USA (IASH). Please visit my professional site, www.sr-centre.com.au. After my graduation I returned to Australia and opened my own
private practice to provide therapy to couples and individuals in all areas of sexuality.
I also ran workshops in community centres in Western Australia, and in Adult Education in universities. In 2001 I opened SR CENTRE INC. to provide services to disadvantaged groups in society who could not afford to pay for private sessions. I also provided a range of educational workshops to help those unable pay for a therapist. After a few years, I realized that there were many couples and individuals who needed help, but did not feel comfortable with therapy. On the other hand, many of them loved to travel. So, why not merge the two? I saw that I needed a deeper understanding of the travel business although I had been an independent traveler, for many years. In 2004 I took a job with one of the leading travel agencies in Australia and ran 34 tours in Indochina and the Middle East . It resulted In creating Dr. Haya Tours.
